Erik R. Baum is a nationally recognized Interview and Interrogation instructor and retired Lieutenant from the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office in New Jersey, where he served more than 25 years in elite investigative assignments including Narcotics, Special Victims, Child Abuse, Fugitive Operations, and Major Crimes. A former Commanding Officer of the Bergen County Narcotic Task Force and primary Polygraph Examiner for the Prosecutor’s Office, Erik has conducted hundreds of high-level criminal interviews and interrogations involving homicides, sexual assaults, child abuse, robberies, fraud, and major narcotics investigations. Known throughout law enforcement for his ability to build rapport, read behavior, and obtain confessions in complex cases, Erik has trained recruits, detectives, narcotics units, and seasoned investigators across the country.
